Volonteurope is a member of the Council of Europe INGO Group and is a member of CEDAG, the European Council for Voluntary Organisations, and AVSO, the Association for Voluntary Service Organisations

We have organised 15 European Workshops on Volunteer Action, annual four-day conferences at which member organisations and their partners from around the world meet to discuss their work and to consider new developments in voluntary action and citizenship.

These conferences have focused on a variety of themes, such as:

• the role of volunteering as a route to employment
• the role of older volunteers
• volunteering and education
• volunteer management
• volunteering and the environment
• volunteers and citizens’ service
• innovations in volunteering
