CSV Action Desks played a huge role in promoting the campaign to potential volunteers across the country.

CSV Action Desk Producers and their teams, who work within BBC Local Radio stations, coordinated relevant and engaging activities in their communities that thousands of people went along to.

They also worked hard to promote the campaign's resources - such as the How-To Guides which enabled thousands to get involved in CSV Make a Difference Day 2006.

Just one example of an Action Desk that got local volunteers together for CSV MD Day was the CSV team at BBC Radio Berkshire.

Volunteers in Berkshire supported a project called 'The Plot' for their CSV Make a Difference Day. The initiative uses allotments to grow vegetables which are distributed by a number of charities. They painted a mural on the project's shed and dug over the allotment area. They also used the the CSV MD Day How-To be a Greener Gardener Guide and followed its hints and tips on environmentally friendly gardening. We hope they also got a chance to plant the free wildflower seeds and bulbs that came with it!

BBC Radio Berkshire also broadcast live from the allotment on the day! The work of the CSV Action Desk team helped to publicise the way in which projects like these can build links in our communities, having a positive and sustained impact long after CSV MD Day.

If you are a CSV Action Desk Producer, or if you volunteered at an activity coordinated by the Action Desk at your local BBC Radio station, we would love to hear from you.
