A ground-breaking 2007!
2007 was an amazing year for CSV Make a Difference Day. For the
first time, we ran with another campaign, Dare to Care, which
helped young people living in poverty in England...
People all over the country came
together to help change their communities, with a special focus on
activities helping young people, families and children living in
poverty. Youth centres were redecorated, reading schemes were set
up, healthy eating sessions started and street parties bought
families and communities closer together.
Thousands of young people were involved through their youth club or
at school, college or university.
Here are just a few of the highlights involving young
people in CSV Make a Difference Day 2007....
* Students at the University of Birmingham invited Young Offenders
to their radio station, SCRatch, and shared skills in producing a
radio show.
* Pupils at Framwellgate School in Durham washed cars in the
community and collected books to donate to a young carer's
charity.
* Students from the University of Northumbria painted a fantastic
mural on an underpass connecting two parts of the city.
