Q. How do I join the CSV Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme?
A. You just need to be over 50 and have time to spare.
Q. What about experience, education or skill?
A.

Everyone has experience, especially people over the age of 50!

Although special talents are of course welcome, nobody is devoid of some skill or talent and we hope to make use of whatever anyone has to offer. You have a lifetime's experience which can be of benefit to others in some way.

Q.  What is the RSVP?
A.

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme is part of CSV. RSVP was launched in 1988.

It actively encourages and offers retired people over 50 the opportunity to participate in a number of projects for the benefit of the community. It provides a structure and framework for the organisation of a vast pool of untapped experience and commitment.

Q. What kind of work will I be offered?
A.

The types of assignment are limited only by the imagination of the groups.

Anyone in the group can suggest a new project and it will be discussed with other members. Some examples include visiting isolated lonely people, making dressing up clothes for the local primary school, helping at hospitals, manning tourist information kiosks and assisting at an art gallery.

You will only be asked to do those things which you enjoy and you may ask to change your assignment at any time.
