Q. Q. Can I use the experience of being an ‘Ally’ to help me work in the social care field?
A. A: Yes, it is experience which is valid for social care, but you must also be aware that to use it only as work experience may not be doing your young person the most justice. You must be fully committed to your matched young person and respect their confidentiality at all times, so for example using them as a case study might not be appropriate. Talk to the Allies co-ordinator more about this so you know exactly the experience you will get from being an Ally.
