Voluntary Sector Option programmes not only provide real work experience, but enable participants to help others as well.
The focus of these programmes is the development of work skills and progression to employment. In addition to a voluntary sector work placement, training includes a number of core and optional activities selected from occupational skills including retail, administration, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), care and media skills, employability and job search training, confidence building and personal effectiveness.
As well as providing skills training, staff are alert to learners’ changing support needs, interests and motivation. We use our close links with local agencies and voluntary sector organisations to co-ordinate training, placement and support.
