From our Media Clubhouse near Piccadilly Station in Manchester, we offer training and volunteering opportunities in radio, journalism, ICT, video and film production.

The Clubhouse is equipped with the latest media and ICT technology. We aim to provide a variety of volunteering and training opportunities to work positively with people, engaging them in a range of creative media projects that promote active citizenship, community development and lifelong learning.

QT Radio

We have an internet radio station, launched in August 2005, staffed entirely by volunteers of all ages and abilities. Each volunteer presents, produces and edits their show. The shows are streamed over the internet 24 hours a day, seven days a week. To listen, go to http://www.qtradio.co.uk/.

A wide variety of opportunities are available, including opportunities for presenters, researchers and producers.

City and Guilds

Currently we are running the City and Guilds 7501 Level 3 Diploma in Radio and Journalism. For details about the next course please contact us.

OCN Accreditation

We provide a range of accredited courses in radio, video production, personal development, camera techniques and many more. Units on offer range from Level Entry – Level 3.

Training for Businesses

We run media training courses aimed at Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and freelancers. The training focuses on web design and image manipulation.

Community Film Unit

DVDs, short films and documentaries are produced on behalf of community organisations. The films are based on issues relevant to community members and help to raise awareness about the issues that affect them. Opportunities are available for camera operators, interviewers, researchers, editors and producers.

Manchester Media Clubhouse

“Volunteering with CSV gave me the chance to hone my skills and gather evidence of the experience I had accumulated over the years. Now, as a member of staff at the Manchester Media Clubhouse it gives me a real buzz to pass on my knowledge to other volunteers”

“CSV Media Clubhouse has helped me with my communication and organisation skills and also given me more confidence. I enjoy working with other volunteers. The environment is very good to work in and all the key workers are very helpful.”

“Being in the Clubhouse is great because as well as all the learning and support, we get to understand how the media industry works. Overall my experience with CSV has been invaluable.”
