Funded by the Academy for Sustainable Communities (ASC), CSV Education worked with over 180 young people to create a toolkit of resources to support teaching about sustainable communities.

Free to schools and other organisations providing citizenship education, it aims to support the planning, delivery and evaluation of an active citizenship project.

The toolkit consists of a box full of games, pictures, cards and other activities, all designed in consultation with young people.  There is also a ‘Facilitator Guide’ to assist the teacher in using the activities. The main aim of the toolkit is to get students to think about their communities and to inspire them to take part in a project that makes a difference to their community.

To accompany the launch of this resource, CSV is holding three events across the UK for teachers and other people interested in using the pack. These events are free of charge, and will provide teachers with an opportunity to find out more about the work of CSV and ASC, and also how to make active citizenship work, and the best ways to use the toolkit. Details of these events will be enclosed in the toolkit.

Demand for the toolkit has been so high that it has exceeded supply! If you would like to register an interest in the toolkit, or for more information on the project, please contact,
