CSV Make a Difference Day, supported by Barclays
CSV Make a Difference Day (held on the last Saturday of October each year) is the UK’s largest day of active volunteering. In 2005, more than 100,000 people made a difference, taking part in 4,000 activities. The aim of CSV Make a Difference Day is for people to donate time to good causes, thereby having a direct and positive impact upon their local communities.
Everyone who organises a CSV Make a Difference Day activity receives a free Action Pack containing practical advice on organising events and getting publicity. Included are a range of promotional materials and goodies such as balloons, t-shirts and tabards to let all volunteers know that CSV and Barclays appreciate their hard work.
Barclays supports this high-profile campaign as part of their commitment to communities, with an increasing number of staff taking part each year. 10,000 got involved in 2005, both across the UK and in parts of Africa.
Barclays New Futures
The UK’s largest education awards scheme, worth £1,000,000 per annum in grants, materials, professional support and advice to schools. The scheme provides students with opportunities to develop skills for life, work and citizenship through school/community partnerships. CSV delivers the project in partnership with Barclays.
