As a CSV volunteer you will receive weekly allowances.  The rates from 1st April 2008 to 31st March 2009 are:

• Weekly allowance £33
  
• Weekly food allowance £39 (pro rata or meals provided or a combination of both)

The organisation or individual you will be volunteering with also pays for:

• Your initial travel costs from home and back again when you finish by an economical / cheapest form of transport [for International volunteers travel is payable to and from the port of entry]
  
• Fares and other out of pocket expenses incurred whilst volunteering
  
• Accommodation costs including heating, lighting, council tax and television licence.
