CSV Greater Gwent offers a wide range of opportunities for young people and adults to volunteer in Torfaen and Blaenau Gwent, responding to challenges locally, regionally and nationally.
CSV Action Cyfle
Open to young people aged 16-24 years who are not in education, employment or training. Young people can either volunteer on their own with a designated placement, as a group on a specific project, or can run their own project with friends.
Volunteers can be signed up with Millennium Volunteers and have their hours spent volunteering recorded so that they can achieve a 100 and 200 hour Award of Excellence in recognition of their contribution and commitment.
Skills and Activities for Vulnerable Young People (SAVY)
The SAVY project supports young people aged 16-25 who are not in education, employment or training, to find opportunities to get back into the labour market. A partnership arrangement with Cwmbran Centre for Young People, Torfaen Youth Service and Project Hover offers a timetable of activities for volunteering or a recognised training route such as an OCN or NVQ, for which a weekly allowance is payable to the volunteer.
Full-time Volunteering
Open to anyone aged between 16-35 years of age, participants need to be able to spend between four and twelve months of their time away from home, committed to volunteering with CSV. Full-time volunteering can be done in a gap year or to gain experience doing something different from the 9-5 routine. Full support is given to those volunteering.
Whatever you may be interested in doing, CSV Greater Gwent offers something for everyone. For further information please contact the CSV office - full contact details are on the right.
