Volunteers bring real and lasting improvement to the quality and range of services on offer in libraries. CSV's Lending Time develops and sustains levels of volunteer involvement in public libraries for the future.
CSV Lending Time pilot projects with support from the DCMS ran from 2001 to 2004 with partner library services in Gateshead, Kent, Bournemouth, Knowsley, Staffordshire and Merton, London.

CSV Consulting has supported library service managers and staff around the country to involve volunteers. In Gloucestershire, Wokingham and Southampton, CSV helped library staff to set up programmes which extend and strengthen the range and scope of services that are available from public libraries. They benefit users and local communities.
In Kent, CSV runs the Time2Give project from Maidstone in partnership with Kent Libraries and Archives. Click here for more information about this programme and to volunteer with Kent libraries.
