CSV knows just how important the simple act of volunteering can be. Through your own life's experiences you can make a huge difference to the lives of other people, even affect and benefit entire communities.
You can gain too - gain new friends, gain new personal skills through practical experience, and enhance your CV to boot.
Wherever your interests lie CSV can offer information and support to help you make a difference through volunteering. Read on to see a few of our key interests to help you to get involved...
Climate change is a topic on everybody's lips. Our environmental volunteering pages can help you to get involved in the annual Action Earth campaign, but if you live around Birmingham or Bristol you can find specific opportunities to help. You can also find news, resources and ways to get directly in touch with CSV Environment programme.
Health and Social Care is of enormous interest to many potential volunteers. For one thing it has great scope in terms of providing hands-on experience - experience recognised by admissions tutors and employers. So while you're supporting people with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, and mental health issues, you will also be giving your career a healthy head start.
Linked to this is the growing Mentoring and Befriending phenomenon. With the right attitude and time to give, anyone can be a mentor and give a variety of young people support and guidance. All CSV mentoring projects offer a quality experience to both the volunteers and the young person being mentored.
Lastly, your passion may be for Media in its myriad forms. For example, CSV Media Clubhouses offer media projects and training to people traditionally excluded from media tools. Or, if you have journalistic experience you can help the CSV Journalist Network which connects media professionals with smaller charities needing help with media and PR work.
If we haven't quite said enough here to whet your appetite, then we have much more to offer!
