Lampton Gardens is a small community garden in Hartcliffe, Bristol, which provides opportunities for volunteers to learn and practice a wide range of horticultural skills, to meet new people and enjoy an active lifestyle.
Volunteers grow a selection of vegetables, herbs and cut flowers for their own pleasure and use.
Originally Lampton Gardens was an abandoned garage site, which was developed into a tree nursery and used as such for many years.
The garden has had a major re-design, and thanks to volunteers from the Royal Bank of Scotland we now have a series of raised beds to grow a selection of vegetables, fruit, herbs and cut flowers organically. We have also planted a living willow arbour and built a native wildlife pond, which will attract more wildlife into the garden and provide volunteers the opportunity to learn about marginal and aquatic plants.
Future development of the Gardens
We would like to involve other community organisations in making the most of the site and the opportunities it presents. If you would like to get involved in the gardens, either as an individual or a group, then please let us know!
