6 July 2006

Novice, expert and would-be cyclists are all invited to CSV’s On Your Bike event, at Ward End Park, Washwood Heath, on Saturday 8th July, from 12 – 4pm.

Activities will include led rides around the Park and into the streets around, cycling agility competitions, cycle repair workshops led by Dr Bike, information on cycle routes, shops, equipment and safe riding techniques, making your own bike decorations, plus free refreshment and cycling goodies. All activities are free and suitable for both adults and children, so come along and give them a try!

The event is open to everyone, whether you use your bike everyday, leave it gathering dust at the back of your shed, or have never been on two wheels before. Bring your bike down to get it checked out and decorated, or try out one of the ones provided.

Find us in the middle of the park, behind the Park House, not far from the main entrance off Washwood Heath Road. Look for signs directing you from other entrances.

On Your Bike is part of CSV’s Pedal Pushers campaign, which hopes to get more people cycling in inner-city Birmingham. Funding for the event has been secured with the help of Defra’s Environment Action Fund (a government scheme promoting more sustainable living).

For more information on the event or how you can get involved in cycling, please contact Tom Freeland on 0121 322 2025 or email tom@csvenvironment.org.uk
