This group meets regularly once a month at the community centre on Muntz St, Small Heath. Everyone is welcome at the meetings, which are held during the day.
The projects currently being looked at by the group include reducing the amount of rotting food left in the park that attracts rats, and improvements to the Moghul Garden and to the park as a whole. In addition, the group have commissioned a feasibility study for the Park Lodge, to try to find a use for it in the long term.
Pigeons and Rats
People often put out bread and kitchen scraps for the pigeons in the park. Unfortunately, this is not a healthy diet for the pigeons, and the rotting food waste attracts rats.
Recent park improvements
Additional funding has been secured from SITA Environmental Trust and ward NRF, which has been used to give the Moghul Garden a makeover, including renovating the pavilion and improving access.
