The winning entries for Volunteer Britain were selected by a panel of experts from across the media industry. The judges were:
Mike Fentiman
Mike Fentiman has over 40 years exeprience in television and radio. A one-time president of the International Public Television Programme Festival, Mike's producer credits include BBC2's Late Night Line-Up. He has also worked on a number of scripts including radio and television scripts for the Two Ronnies.
Kathryn Blacker
Kathryn has been at the NMPFT since 2003 working as the Head of the Media Development Team, and previously spent five years working for BBC Sport.
Michele Farmer
With a background in Visual Arts, Michele was Director at Spike Island in Bristol and has run several exhibition spaces. She has extensive knowledge of the voluntary sector where she has worked as a volunteer, fundraiser and manager for projects working with adults with learning difficulties and young people at risk of offending.
Nick Ware
Nick Ware has been in post as the Controller of the since 2005. Prior to joining the channel, he worked at the BBC for BBC Learning, BBC Knowledge and a variety of arts and radio shows.
Nick is also a Trustee of the Independent Film Trust.
Paul Appleby
Paul Appleby is a BAFTA award-winning producer, whose work focuses on audience involvement, new technologies, user-generated content and innovative working practices in both linear and interactive media.
He has worked at BBC Bristol since 1979, covering a wide range of roles involving all forms of factual television. He developed and ran the BBC Natural History Unit's internal training and work experience schemes, and has lectured in production at the University of West England.
In 2005, Paul became involved with the 90 Second Challenge, which encouraged people from across Bristol to make 90 second pieces of digital media.
