Comprising 55 members including Barnardos, British Red Cross, Citizens Advice Bureau, Mind, WRVS, The National Trust, The Princes Trust, RNIB, RNID, and The Samaritans, The Network of National Volunteer-Involving Agencies (NNVIA) aims to promote the work of the volunteering sector to the public, private and voluntary and community sector through patnership working.

The Chair of NNVIA is elected annually from among the membership, and between them the members mobilise over 1 million volunteers per annum. CSV provides the secretariat of NNVIA.

Membership is an open and inclusive network of independent national Charities working in the volunteering sector. It provides an independent and politically neutral voice for the sector, and does not adopt a partisan view on party political or religious issues.

Between them the members of NNVIA mobilise over 1 million volunteers per annum.

It provides for the sharing of information and best practice, opportunities for discussion and debate, and contributes to the development of public policy issues as they relate to the volunteering sector.

NNVIA respects and supports the independence of all its members and individual activities, applications and publications on behalf of NNVIA only carry the names of NNVIA members supporting that specific item.

NNVIA was established in 2003 to ensure that the views of national volunteer involving agencies were formulated and heard in government policy consultations and development. It also enables NNVIA members to collaborate on common issues more effectively and in the interests both of volunteers and the community as a whole.

Membership of NNVIA does not preclude the right to independent action by its members, nor is it binding that all members support all the actions of other members.

NNVIA Conference 2010 - Changing the Profile of Volunteering

This ground breaking conference brings together key voices in the volunteering sector to highlight the work of the National Network of Volunteer Involving Agencies who in partnership with Volunteering England has been working at both a regional and a national level on ways to overcome barriers to volunteering, and why it is such good business for all organisations.
