Team Employee Volunteering in South London

The team wanted to achieve something really special for their local community whilst having fun, working in teams and getting to know each other better. The community venue wanted a fun event to aid fundraising.

  • Outcomes: The team raised over £200 from tin shaking activities alongside the service users. They also had an interactive lunch where the service users and volunteers learnt about each other.
  • Venue Profile: The venue is based in Richmond and works with children and adults with learning disabilities, representing their needs, campaigning on their behalf and providing general support to them and their families.
  • What Happened: The team met at the venue’s local office and received a Health and Safety briefing and introduction to the venue and aims of the day. The team was then divided into two groups and alongside service users, went off and collected raffle prizes for an upcoming fundraising event. The team had lunch with the services users and one of them gave a talk about their personal experience of adult bullying. After lunch, the groups had permission to tin shake at two local stations and give out information leaflets about a new anti bullying campaign.
