CSV Conference: Broadcasting and its Role in Promoting Volunteering

Location: Central London, UK
Date: 21st, 22nd September 2011

CSV is bringing together broadcasters and representatives of the voluntary sector from across Europe.

The aim is to share what works when promoting volunteering and active citizenship using the media and social action programming.

One of the key objectives of the conference is to enable countries where there is little or no tradition of either social action broadcasting and/or volunteering to return with good ideas that they might want to put into practice.

Co-hosted by the BBC in central London and supported by the European Commission the conference promises to be a great opportunity to share ideas, particularly in the context of the European Year of  Volunteering 2011.

We are delighted to have secured the BBC Bus for the conference, a multimedia mobile information hub that has been used over many years to reach out to community groups and to promote active citizenship.
