International Volunteers - Eun Ji's Story

Eun Ji volunteered full-time with CSV for a year. We recruited her through our partners in South Korea. She supported Jo, who lives with her husband in Birmingham. Jo has cerebral palsy and is unable to speak or walk. CSV full-time volunteers have enabled her to live independently at home with her husband since 1980.

For Eun Ji, volunteering full-time with CSV was a chance to improve her English and get a taste of life in a different culture…

“Before I came to England as a CSV volunteer, I lived with my parents in South Korea. I was interested in international volunteering as it seemed like a good opportunity to learn about the culture of a different country. By helping Jo, I feel happy because I can see the value of my volunteering work. I like preparing dinner and feeding Jo because it means that I can make and eat British food! I am learning all the time!”

If you live in Austria, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Honduras, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Taiwan, Turkey or the USA you can apply to be an International Volunteer with CSV. Click here to download our fact sheet on how to apply.
