eMentoring

CSV has been running eMentoring projects for almost ten years enabling business mentors, university students and others to support secondary and primary school pupils.

eMentoring is a mentoring relationship established using electronic communication as the mentoring medium via a secure web-based system.

For mentors it is a flexible, fun and easily accessible way to volunteer enhancing employability skills as well as making a real difference to the young person’s life. For the mentee, eMentoring provides one-to-one support with a dedicated and skilled adult who will act as a positive role model.

‘One of the best things I have ever done. Having an ementor really relieved the pressure on me... you gave really good advice, I could talk to you easily, and I could trust you.’

Yr. 11 Pupil, Feltham Community College

Through this safe and secure eMentoring relationship, the advice and support provided by the mentor will help increase aspirations to Further or Higher education, encourage attainment, motivation and self-esteem and improve ICT, literacy and communication skills.

CSV provides all organisations support with setting up an eMentoring project, training and troubleshooting assistance. There are various packages available to organisations offering different levels of support to best suit the needs of the client.

Present and previous clients include Deutsche Bank, Aimhigher, Landmark Training, University of Leeds, Sunderland City Council and Oxford Brookes University.

Please note, we do not arrange ementoring partnerships for individuals. At present our ementoring service is aimed at organisations wishing to create multiple ementoring partnerships.

If your organisation is interested in setting up a CSV ementoring programme, please contact Sophie Earnshaw on 0207 6431403 or email searnshaw@csv.org.uk.
