Offenders

Mentoring for OffendersDo you understand the issues faced by offenders when they leave prison? Are you a good listener? Could you offer help and support to an offender on a community-based sentence?

If you live in West Yorkshire we want to hear from you.

We work in partnership with the West Yorkshire Probation Trust recruiting and training volunteer mentors to help offenders adapt to life after prison or to serve community-based sentences as an alternative to prison.

Government statistics show that nearly half of ex-offenders re-offend in the first year after leaving prison, most in the first three months. As a volunteer mentor, you could provide support and friendship during this crucial time.

Or you could help mentor an offender who is undertaking an Intensive Alternative to Custody Order by giving practical support and positive encouragement.
