Mentoring in Schools

CSV volunteers help students with reading, writing, maths and science and share their skills and experience. In turn, our volunteers get the satisfaction of knowing they have helped a young person to grow in confidence and fulfil their potential. Did you know that in just one term, a volunteer can raise a child’s reading age by a whole year?

Spending time in schools is a great way to get a break from the stress of everyday life. Many of our volunteers also find they learn more from the children than they could ever have expected. Watch the video below to find out why...

Many of our schools mentoring projects are organised by CSV’s Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme. There are groups all over the UK. To find your local group click through to our location map and look for the orange pins.

CSV also works with companies on bespoke schools projects, enabling employees to volunteer as mentors in local schools. Click here to find out more about CSV Employee Volunteering, contact Lesley Nicholls on 020 7643 1427 or e-mail lnicholls@csv.org.uk
